The process of applying for the visa necessary for you to travel or migrate to another country is challenging. For an ordinary person, this may be series of complicated steps. Good thing there are experts who are very much willing to help you simplify the process. Immigration consultants will also help you achieve a successful visa issuance.

Visa Interview Tips

Be Prepared – Experts highly emphasized that you must know some significant information regarding your country of destination. Oftentimes, the more you know about where you are going and why you must go there, the better you will do. There are some officers who begin their interview in a casual way, asking you to search your country of destination in a map. Some officers might have specific questions regarding the program you intend to take up if you are applying for a student visa.

Always speak for yourself – You must not bring your parents or any of your family members during the interview. Bear in mind that you will be interviewed not your parents or relatives. So be very prepared to speak on your own behalf.

Be concise – Be reminded that oftentimes, officers are under a considerable amount of time to perform quick and effective interviews. Lots of decisions are often made on the impressions they form during the first minute or two of the conversation. In other words, what you say first along with the initial impression you create are very crucial to your success. Thus, you need to keep all your answers short and to the point.

Have a clear supplement document – The content as well as the context of your supporting document must be clear at first glance. If you are lucky, you may have about 2-3 minutes of interview time. So make the most of it by being at your very best.

Always have a positive attitude – You must not engage in an argument with the officer who is conducting the interview. In case you received a denied visa, ask the officer for a list of documents he or she would suggest you must bring so you can successfully overcome the refusal. It would also be a nice idea for you to ask the reason why you were denied and put it in writing. If you are denied for your first interview, book for a second on as soon as you possibly can. Also, gather new information in order to address deficiencies in your application or perhaps interview responses. Bring new and compelling information to your next interview to justify the reconsideration of your case.

Troubles That Can Ruin Your Vacation

Troubles That Can Ruin Your Vacation

All of us are excited and look forward to our break. No matter how grand or simple our travel plans are, they are special for us. However, when things go wrong, these special moments can be turned into truly disastrous ones. This is the last thing you wish for on a trip. As bad as it may sound, many of us have to become victims of such travel disasters. Here we reveal the most common ones and advise you on how you can escape them easily.

1. Someone Breaking In Your House

Many of us are so fearful about this that we decide not to travel altogether. Sadly, there are criminals always on the watch for you to desert your surroundings so that they can attack them. It’s never a good feeling getting back to your own comfort zone, with many of your valuables being picked up. It is indeed a very scary feeling. This is a common problem, and a lot can be done to avoid it. You may install the professional security locking system. It is advanced and efficient at what it does. Let your neighbors and dear ones know about your travel plans so that they can look after your house every now and then once you are away. It’s best to prepare your house in such a manner that it doesn’t look like it has been vacated.

2. Car Rental Accidents

On a foreign trip, the last thing you would want to experience is rental car accidents. But why have these become so common these days? The problem lies mainly with the car rental companies doing their best to fool you. Because the low rates seem very attractive, a lot of people rush to book the car without looking at the vehicle carefully.

Ensure that when you get the vehicle, you have studied it well. Make sure it is in a good condition. When you see dents already, take photographs that will serve as evidences. Invest in a good emergency kit, it always comes in handy!

3. Scams

Tourists face all kinds of these. Travel scams are very common, and you’ll not fully realize the harm it does until you experience it. A lot of locals dedicate their life to fooling the tourists. They would trick you into believing what they say and cause you financial harm of some sort. Many times, they will appear extremely sincere and you can’t help but fall for their kindness.

In times like these, it is best to keep away from the tourist areas. If you must go, dress and act like a local. Make sure that all your valuables are left behind in the hotel room. If you must carry them, ensure that they are properly concealed. There’s no guarantee that you can escape them, but there is still a chance that you wouldn’t.

Guide For Guests Staying At A Luxury Hotel

Guide For Guests Staying At A Luxury Hotel

superior-roomMost people save money for years to go on that ultimate vacation. This usually means going overseas, on some exotic or well-known tourist destination and staying at a luxury hotel. On this type of holiday, you would usually have no qualms about splurging on yourself and your family so that everyone can enjoy and live, at least temporarily, a pampered, luxurious life.

But even if you will be spending a lot of money on this vacation, especially on your stay in a luxury hotel, it doesn’t mean that you have the liberty to do anything you want which includes being bad hotel guests. To make sure that you and everyone in your party can be considered by the hotel staff as great guests, below are some good practices every hotel guest should observe or follow:

Never lose your temper. Certain problems and issues can still arise, even if you stay at a choice luxury hotel. Checking in, for example, can sometimes take too long, especially during peak seasons. You may have to wait in line for a long time for your turn and as such, you may start getting impatient. However, this isn’t still a reason for you to lose your temper. The last thing you want is to get in a fight with the person at the front desk on your first day of stay at the hotel. And you don’t want the other guests to see your improper behavior as well. To avoid a frustrating situation like this, plan on arriving early, allowing for at least thirty extra minutes for check-in procedure. Bear in mind though that even if you plan your time really well, sometimes things just happen that cause unexpected delays. In such circumstances, always stay patient and calm.

Interact and connect with the employees. This doesn’t mean memorizing all the names of the hotel employees. However, if you can at least remember the names of the employees you encounter on a regular basis that are really making an extra effort to be nice to you, this will be greatly appreciated and even motivate the staff to be even nicer to you. Proper hotel etiquette dictates that you at least try to reciprocate a warm gesture, establish a real and genuine human connection with some of the staff.

Be respectful. Lastly, just because you are a paying customer doesn’t mean that you go around the hotel demanding special treatment and expecting to be respected at all times by the staff while you are being rude to them. Appropriate hotel etiquette states that respect goes both ways. As such, always show sincere and genuine respect for the staff, regardless of their position, and you will gain their respect in return. In addition, respect the hotel property as well. Be careful when using the appliances and other features and fixtures in the room.

Tips To See Broadway Shows In New York City

Tips To See Broadway Shows In New York City

Planning a trip to New York City soon? Do you want to attend some Broadway performances and still remain on a budget? Here are some great tips to get you into New York City where you can see some plays without spending a fortune.

Getting To New York City

Trying to decide which airport to choose to fly into? Instead of flying directly into New York City, consider flying to Newark, New Jersey, instead. Why? The NJ Transit train will take you directly from the Newark Airport to Penn Station in New York City in 30 minutes for $13.00 one way. This is much cheaper and quicker than trying to take a cab from one of the New York airports to downtown Manhattan.

Exit the train at Penn Station in New York City. While you’re at the station, purchase the 7-day unlimited metrocard. The card is $31.00 and can be used to get you around the city for 7 days of your stay. This will come in handy as you’re planning your sightseeing itinerary.

Head Over To Times Square

As you leave Penn Station, head over to Times Square and take a look at all of plays performing while you’re in town. As you stand in the middle of Times Square, look up at all of the billboards. There are performances both on Broadway and Off-Broadway. There is so much to choose from!

As you look around, you’ll notice under the “red steps” at Broadway and 47th, the TKTS ticket booth. It opens at 3:00 pm each day except Tuesday, when it opens an hour earlier at 2:00 pm. How will you know you’ve found it? Look for the hundreds of people lining up to purchase theatre tickets up to 50% off. What a deal! Near the ticket window, you will see which plays they’re selling tickets for as well as the prices of the tickets. Are you ready to get in line and grab a ticket for tonight’s performance? These lines move fast, but expect to be in line for about an hour. Do you want to spend an hour of your vacation standing in line each day?

Use Your Metrocard And Head Out Of Times Square

There may be a better way. These same tickets are also sold in two other locations:

South Street Seaport
Corner of Front and John Streets

Downtown Brooklyn
1 MetroTech Center, corner of Jay Street and Myrtle Avenue Promenade

These locations typically open up 4 hours before the ticket booth in Times Square. They both open at 11:00 am each morning except the Brooklyn location is closed on Sunday and Monday each week. Getting your tickets in one of these other locations, allows you to have a better seat selection for that night’s performance, since they open earlier than the Times Square location. The best part, usually you can walk right up to the window without the long wait!

Use your metrocard to zip you out of the city to one of these other locations. I would recommend getting your tickets in Brooklyn one day, where you can stop for lunch and enjoy a pizza. After lunch, consider a walk back across the Brooklyn Bridge. The views of the city are worth the walk! Time to go get your tickets and enjoy the show!
